Founding Cohort Terms
Last updated: October 26, 2026
These Founding Cohort Terms are part of the Vendor Listing Agreement between you and LaVilla Holdings LLC, doing business as Christian Wedding Vendor ("CWV"). If they conflict with the Plans and Billing Terms, these terms control for founding vendors.
1. What a founding spot is
- CWV offers one founding spot for each category in each city where CWV operates. For example, one founding photographer in Atlanta and one founding florist in Atlanta.
- A business may hold only one founding spot, in one city. If your listing also appears in other cities you serve, your founding status and Founding badge apply only in your founding city; in other cities it appears as a regular listing, without the Founding badge or top placement, at no charge. A founding listing can appear in up to 10 cities, your founding city included.
- Founding spots are offered by invitation only, through a personal invitation link for a specific category and city. An invitation doesn't reserve the spot until your listing is approved, and CWV may withdraw an unused invitation.
2. What founding vendors receive
For as long as you keep your founding status, you receive, at no charge:
- Everything included in the Preferred plan at the time, including top placement in your city and category results, one Journal story per year, and the full dashboard.
- A Founding badge on your listing.
If the features of the Preferred plan change, your founding benefits change with them. No plan guarantees a search ranking, a number of views or inquiries, or any bookings.
3. Free for life: the conditions
Your founding listing stays free for as long as you:
- keep your listing active and your business operating in that category and city;
- keep your listing accurate, and confirm your prices when we ask, at least every 6 months; and
- remain in good standing under the Vendor Listing Agreement, the Terms of Service, and these terms.
"For life" means for the life of your founding listing while you meet these conditions, and for as long as CWV operates the directory.
4. If a condition isn't met
- We will email you and explain what needs to be fixed.
- If it isn't fixed within 30 days of that email, we may end your founding status and offer the spot to another vendor.
- If your founding status ends, your listing can continue on a paid plan at current prices, starting with your next billing date. Founding status ended for a condition isn't restored later.
- For serious breaches, such as false information, fraud, or harming couples, we may end founding status and remove the listing immediately.
5. Changes to your business
- Category or city: a founding spot belongs to one category in one city. If you change your listing's category or your founding city, your founding status doesn't move with it, and the new listing follows the Plans and Billing Terms.
- Sale or transfer: founding status can't be sold or transferred, including to a buyer of your business, without CWV's written consent.
- Closing your account: closing your account ends your founding status. If you return later, the spot may already be held by another vendor.
6. Referrals
Founding vendors can earn referral commissions on paying vendors they refer, under the referral terms in the Vendor Listing Agreement.
7. No cash value
Founding benefits have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money or credit.
